Description

Black rot is a disease in grapes. Lesions first appear in spring with small round dead spots on leaves. As the lesions grow, they turn from red to dark brown and eventually form black dots (fruiting bodies). Small, white lesions appear on the fruit initially. They progressively rot the fruit and produce black sexual fruiting bodies.  Eventually the whole fruit turns black and shrivels up.
