Description

Brown rot infects the plant tissue, flowers and fruit of stone fruit (plums, peaches, apricots and cherries). Prolonged wet conditions through flowering may cause severe infections. Disease spores come from infected fruit and plant material that over winters near trees. Early symptoms include twig and blossom blights.  Later symptoms include small brown lesions on fruit that eventually lead to fruit rot.
