Description

Fly speck is a summer disease of apples and pears. It appears as a cluster of small, black shiny dots on the skin of the fruit.  These can number from a few up to 100. Lesions do not penetrate the flesh of the fruit, staying on the surface. Infection and disease development can occur in wet, humid conditions during late summer.
