Movento

Movento® insecticide is an excellent solution for insect control in your potato, apple, grape and a number of vegetable crops. Spray before threshold is reached and its two-way systemic action and strong residual control will ensure aphids stay out, all season long. Movento (spirotetramat) is a Group 23 mode of action from a class of chemistry called tetramic acid that acts as a Lipid Biosynthesis Inhibitor (LBI). As an LBI, Movento works by inhibiting the insect’s ability to produce lipids, resulting in symptoms of poisoning and subsequent death following exposure. Movento provides excellent, long-term control of immature and adult female stages of aphids, various species of scale, mealybugs and Phylloxera. Following a foliar application, Movento rapidly moves into leaf vascular tissue and is carried up and down the plant system to protect leaf and root tissue. Movento’s residual activity continues to protect new plant growth.

Minimum seven day interval between applications
Most effective when applied as a preventative treatment or before populations reach damaging levels
Must be applied with one of the following adjuvants: non-ionic (e.g. Agral 90 or Ag-surf), methylated seed oil (e.g., Hasten), or horticultural oil at 0.2% v/v
Prior to use of a surfactant with Movento in grapes, the mixture must be tested in a small area to ensure no risk of phytotoxicity
Prior to the use of a surfactant with Movento in tree fruits and nuts, the mixture must be tested in a small area to ensure no risk of phytotoxicity
Good coverage is important, product will not move to older leaves, as these leaves are not being fed by the plant’s transport system
Apply when sufficient leaf tissue is present to allow for maximum uptake of Movento by the plant
For high insect pressure and for faster knockdown, a follow-up application may be necessary seven days after the initial application
