RE: Proposed Special Review Decision (PSRD) regarding dicamba by Canada’s Pest Management Regulatory Agency (PMRA)
Bayer is assessing the PMRA's Proposed Special Review Decision (PSRD) regarding dicamba to better understand the rationale for the proposed changes, and the potential impact on the agriculture industry should these measures be implemented. Bayer complied with the PMRA’s Special Review process and will continue to actively participate in the 45-day public consultation process.
Bayer stands behind the safety of our products, including dicamba, which is an important herbicide for Canadian farmers. Dicamba compliments glyphosate as a critical crop protection tool, by controlling certain glyphosate resistant weeds and providing consistent broadleaf residual weed control. Dicamba is a significant tool for growers and was applied to 9.3 million acres of Canadian crop land in 2024 (Source: Ag Data).
We believe Canada has one of the most robust pest management regulatory systems in the world, and we support PMRA processes, including a thorough and evidence-driven consultation process following publication of PSRDs. We are committed to transparency with stakeholders through appropriate communication and dialogue.
