Converge XT against the competitors
Mike Cowbrough, on Converge XT: "In 2011, the University of Guelph conducted trials comparing weed control with pre-emerge herbicides for use in glyphosate- or Liberty-tolerant corn. Converge XT provided the most consistent control of the annual grass and broadleaf weeds present at each location when evaluated at the 8-leaf stage of corn. This would decrease the risk of weed seeds being returned to the soil and makes it a suitable resistance management option." - Mike Cowbrough, Field Crop Weed Management Lead – OMAFRA
Setup Acre Trial Results for Glyphosate Tolerant Corn
In 2011, a number of set-up treatments were compared in trials run by Mike Cowbrough – Weed Specialist/OMAFRA, Francois Tardif, Clarence Swanton and Peter Sikkema – University of Guelph. The overall average weed control on the six species in these trials was Converge XT Setup Acre rate, 91%; Integrity®, 88%; and Primextra® II Magnum, 78%. The Converge XT Setup Acre rate resulted in better weed control than Primextra II Magnum on 4 out of 6 weeds and better weed control than Integrity on 3 out of 6 weeds.

Average of visual control of weeds with several residual setup treatments in glyphosate tolerant corn.
The above data is based on 5 trials at three different locations in Ontario, 2011.
